  2. Participants will be able to apply key skills and strategies for addressing bias and mitigating sociocultural trauma to their own areas of work.
  3. Participants will gain skills in applying a cultural humility and equity lens to improve their trauma-informed practices of establishing safety and predictability, fostering compassionate and dependable relationships, facilitating collaboration and empowerment, and promoting resilience and healing.
  4. Participants will be able to provide an overview of key principles of neurodevelopment crucial for understanding the role of experiences in defining the functional and physical organization of the brain.
  5. Participants will be able to describe the emerging clinical and research findings that show the impact of abuse, neglect, and trauma on brain development in children, and describe the educational implications of a neurodevelopmental approach to children who experience ACEs.
  6. Participants will be able to identify the role of public policy, preventative practices, assessment, interventions, and classroom considerations in context of the impact of maltreatment on children’s emotional, behavioral, cognitive, social, and physical health.
