Group Dynamics & Group Psychotherapy: Beyond That One Class You Had In Graduate School – with Katherine Zwick, MA, LPCC,CGP

After the success of this presentation in 2015, Katherine Zwick is back for round two for those who may have not attended or for those who want to learn the material again and more deeply! Katherine will be teaching advanced concepts in group psychotherapy from the field of group relations and helping attendees understand "the group unconscious" and how to work with it in the here-and-now of group life. She will teach some of the fundamentals, such as the five basic assumptions of groups, common roles in groups, how to help groups get "unstuck," and the importance of attending to boundaries, authority, roles, and task in all groups. She will also do some role playing with attendees to demonstrate techniques that illustrate the theory.
  • List the five basic assumptions of groups
  • List five of the planes within which groups function
  • List at least three roles that group members may find themselves in
  • Name at least three specific techniques that can be utilized from a group dynamics framework
  • Name the four key elements of a group's structure
